First Wave Colonist, Survivor
Mako is a colonist who hails from the port city of Blackbarrow, and was found living among the Ech’lun south of the ruins within the Pyramid Lake. She was met when the party returned the Ech’lun home who were taken prisoner by the orcs and worked as a translator. Against her wishes, she was ordered by the Priestess of the Briarhoof to return to the party’s camp in a diplomatic mission of sorts, to determine the possibility of peace between the Ech’lun and the new Choso Settlers.
She served as the Scout for the first colonization attempt, and of the seven hundred souls that attempted to breach the Storm Wall, less than two hundred made it alive to shore, and many of their supplies and resources were lost to the depths. To make matters worse, their group had landed in a barren land, cursed and blighted. The ground was as dust, the trees black and petrified, and the land filled with the undead. What Colonists made it out of the forsaken lands were set upon by Hobgoblins, and Mako only escaped through grit and luck. She hadn’t seen another Choso face since, until meeting with the party.
Through conversation, she has made it clear she has no intention of staying with the colonists, and intends to return to the Briarhoof. While she has spoken of the harrowing events that befell her and the other colonists upon washing up on the Storm Isles, it is unknown what tempers her resolve and aligns her with the Ech’lun.
